Amify Explores The Outdoor Retailer Summer Market

Last week some of our Amify team members traveled to Denver, Colorado for the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market! This tradeshow is North Americas largest in the outdoor industry, drawing attendees from around the world. Each Max, Henry, and Brian had a different experience while there, but all agreed on one thing- it was great to have strategic meetings with key buyers that influence the outdoor market. Here’s what they had to say about the experience. Max Borges, Business Development Manager “Overall, it was great to experience the Outdoor Retailer show which is an industry that has so much energy, momentum, and opportunity. The learning experience for us around understanding brands’ current Amazon approach and the different strategies considered is really informative and really useful for us to hear about. There are lots of brands in the process of formulating or changing their approach – they’ve realized that Amazon is not the right partner and/or are realizing Amazon is an opportunity that cannot be ignored. There are exceptions, of course, but, for the most part, we connected with the brands at a good time. Most brands were very open to an Amazon discussion and are highly focused on it”. Henry Relph, Account Manager “It’s amazing being able to meet with our brands face to face, especially so many over just a couple days. Email and phone work well, but face to face communication really helps take the relationship to the next level”.  Brian Liebman, Chief Revenue Officer “Trade Shows and Industry events are a great opportunity for Amify to meet with the brands we currently partner with and chat with new brands that can benefit from our Amazon expertise; Outdoor Retailer did not disappoint. Amify hit Denver with the largest team ever at an industry event and was impressed with the energy and passion brands have towards implementing a strong Amazon strategy. The Amify team met with ~15 current brand partners such as Arcteryx, Kala, Yukon Outfitters and some potential brands such as Asolo, Deuter, and Helinex. Themes from the brands were consistent; the need to better manage their Amazon presence (enforce map, identify unauthorized sellers, enhance listings) and maximize sales. The Amify team is excited to further our partnerships with these brands and crush their goals!”
